Instructions for sending your 1997-2004 Corvette Headlight Motor to us for restoration.

Pack your Headlight Motor very well in order to prevent damage in shipping. We recommend wrapping the headlight motor tightly with plenty of bubble wrap and to use a good quality box that has at least 2" of bubble wrap on each side, top and bottom. USPS, UPS,  Fed EX all offer fresh new boxes for either free or for a charge. We notice most of our Headlight Motor restorations come in using USPS since they are so convenient in almost every town. We recommend that you insure your Headlight Motor for $400 in case it gets damaged during the shipment to us.

Please do not send the headlight motor frame and assembly. This restoration service is just for the headlight motor.

Please write: "Attention Restoration Department" on the outside of the box.

Once we receive your Headlight Motor, we will contact you and provide an initial price assessment including return shipping and secure billing information. Please note that additional charges may apply depending on the condition of your Headlight Motor.

Tips - Before installing new headlight motors, it is very important to check for any possible factors that may have caused failure and/or lead to your headlight motors wearing out quickly or not operating properly.

DEAD MOTOR
Malfunctioning motors may be the issue. Check if voltage is going to the motors, a good reading of the meter will pinpoint the issue. Directly connect the motor with the 12 volts from the battery, if it moves then the problem is not the motor.

HEADLIGHT BUCKET ALIGNMENT
A mis-aligned headlight bucket will cause motor failure. After removing your motors check the complete rotation of both headlight buckets from the close position to the fully opened position for any friction or hard spots where there may be problems in the rotation. Many Corvettes have been hit before causing abnormal friction in the rotation of the assembly. They should feel completely smooth where you can easily open and close the buckets. If you feel any friction or hard spots it is most likely to body interference.

BAD HEADLIGHT SWITCH CONTROL MODULE
Listen for the gears spinning. Turning the twilight function in DIC settings will usually work if the switch is the problem. If the computer does not flip up the lights look elsewhere as it may not be the switch. Test the ground and power circuit of the pop-up control for an open or poor connection.

A GEAR ISSUE
Listen if the motor is spinning, if the motor keeps running you are dealing with a stripped gear failure. Replace the motor with a new one.
