1992-1994 LT1 OptiSpark Distributor Pro Billet MSD
Light up your 1992-1994 Corvette's weak LT1 OptiSpark Ignition System with a Pro Billet Distributor from MSD! Finally, an all-out performance distributor to replace the OEM GM LT1 OptiSparks. MSD's Pro-Billet LT1 distributors feature a precision-machined billet aluminum housing that fits in place of the factory piece, a new pickup assembly, a trick timing adjustment mechanism, and a new MSD distributor cap and rotor. The pickup is an advanced optical encoder that has proven to be very reliable and stable through extreme rpm and conditions. The rotor is bolted to a drive assembly that is indexed to the shaft, and is stabilized through the use of a large ball bearing assembly. The distributors use an adjustment screw to advance or retard the timing by up to 5 degrees.
NOTE: Water Pump leaks are the most common cause of Opti-Spark failures. Since water pump removal is required to replace the Opti-Spark distributor, please visit our You Will Need and We Recommend tabs for planning ideas.

Tech Tip: On 1992-1996 LT1 Corvettes, you must remove the water pump to service the OptiSpark Distributor. So when you service your OptiSpark Distributor, it is a good time to replace a questionable water pump. In fact, the most common cause of OptiSpark Distributor failure is a coolant leak from the pump. Whenever you remove your water pump, always replace the gasket to prevent leaks.
