1985-1996 Fuel Filter In Line - OEM Number(s) (89058397)
This 1985-1996 Corvette Fuel Filter, is located beneath the passenger side door at inside of frame rail. Care and safety measures must to be taken when changing it as fuel system is pressurized.
1985-1996 Corvette Fuel Filter, was used from 1985-1996, was made of stainless steel, both ends were threaded. The filter is on the RH side on the inside of frame rail. There is a heat shield that may have to be removed for better clearance. If you have a convertible, it will be a lot harder to do, because the large X brace is right in the way and will have to be delt with. You will also need end wrenches and possibly a drain pan. Don't forget to take gas cap off to relieve pressure, also you can release pressure at Schrader valve on intake so you don't start a syphoning effect, if you do, you won't be able to stop it and a catch can will be needed. Make sure all fittings are tight when installing, and check for leaks after tightening fittings.
