1975-1980 Distributor HEI III Street / Strip Blue Cap PerTronix
This HEI PerTronix Street / Strip Distributor is a vacuum advance distributor, machined polished with the Flame Thrower HEI III Module.
1975-1980 Flame-Thrower Street / Strip HEI Distributors with Blue Distributor Cap is built from the ground up with all new components. They are engineered with a special module and coil combination that operates without misfires beyond 7500 RPM. That’s nearly 3000 RPM higher than most original HEI distributors.
This Flame-Thrower HEI Street / Strip Distributor is equipped with the HEI III Performance Module, which produces 67% more energy with a 45% faster spark breakdown time when compared to the stock HEI. This module also adds twice the energy to the spark plugs. Tests show that with these improvements wider plug gaps can be used resulting in an increasing flame kernel growth for more efficient combustion.
Distributor Features:
- New lightweight A384 cast aluminum alloy housing.
- Aligned and honed high quality bronze sintered bushings for reduced friction and extended life.
- Centerless ground corrosion resistant shaft reduces friction and provides concentric operation.
- Distributor gear is ground to exact tolerances for tighter mesh with cam.
- High dielectric strength cap with solid brass terminals and low resistance center coil brush.
- Balanced rotor with nylon screws prevent arching and reduce vibration at high RPMs.
- Adjustable vacuum advance canister and high performance advance curve. Precision machined chromoly advance weights and center plate eliminate erratic timing.
- Meets stringent automobile susceptibility, vibration and shock requirements.
- Legal in all 50 states and Canada (C.A.R.B. E.O. #D-57-5)
- Limited One Year Warranty.
HEI III Module Features:
- Multiple Sparks thru the entire RPM range.
- Integrated digital REV limiter with LED feedback for precise RPM setting.
- Adaptive dwell maintains peak energy through the entire RPM range, reducing misfires while improving engine performance.
- Peak current level is reached just prior to spark for maximum energy without the heat build-up, increasing coil performance and module reliability
- Adjusts spark timing at higher RPMs to compensate for the inherent electronic delay.
- Senses startup and increases energy for quicker, easier starting.
