The 1955-1981 Corvette Clutch Fork Ball Stud is not easy to change but if you already have the Transmission out it's much easier. I would definitely take the time to replace it. The clutch fork pivots on this ball stud. Over time wear and damage to the ball stud cause miss-alignment hindering optimum clutch fork operation. The Corvette's Clutch Fork Ball Stud threads into place from inside the clutch bellhousing at the back of the engine. There is also an engine side bellcrank ball stud that mounts on the L.H. side of engine.
This ball stud fits inside the bellhousing and is the clutch fork pivot mechanism.
