1984-1996 Coupe Conv Windshield Header & Pillar Weatherstrip Seal LATEX - OEM Number(s) (10268887)
1984-1996 Seal, Windshield Header and Pillar. This is the weatherstripping that seals the leading edge of the targa or convertible top and the leading edges of the side windows to prevent wind noise, water, and other debris from entering. This one-piece weatherstrip starts at base of windshield pillars and travels up each pillar post and across the top of windshield frame. The complete removal of old weatherstrip material is critical to a successful installation.
Made from LATEX. Latex gives the look, feel and “softness” of OE style weatherstrips. Softer than EPDM and has original style "skin" as found on OE factory weatherstrips. Allows for excellent fit, finish and functionality.

How to Remove and Install 1984-1996 C4 Corvette Coupe and Convertible Windshield Header and Pillar Weatherstrip Seals
Removal Procedure:
1. Lower both windows, remove the roof panel or lower the convertible top, and open both doors.
2. Disconnect the battery cable to prevent dead battery due to all courtesy lights being on. Use the door weatherstrip seal removal tool, starting on the left lower door hinge pillar, to remove the plastic push-in pin seal holders (Item #1). Now remove the top corner push-in pin seal holder (Item #2).
3. Repeat the same procedure on the right (passenger) side of car.
4. Starting at the left bottom edge (Item #3), lift up on the old seal and using either seal scrapper/cutter tool, cut or pull the seal away from the metal retainer. Remove the seal to about the middle of the windshield, then go to the right (passenger) side and repeat the same procedure. Use the small bent awl tool to remove any old seal from the metal retainer's edges. Remove any old adhesive from the metal retainer.
Installation Procedure:
1. Measure to the middle of the windshield and make a white chalk mark on the metal seal retainer.
2. Measure to the center of the new seal and mark it with a chalk mark also.
3. Apply a bead of 3M black weatherstrip seal adhesive 3/8" wide in the center of the metal retainer, across the top and down each side post retainer.
4. Starting in the center of the windshield, align the chalk marks on the retainer and the seal.
5. Push the seal into the metal retainer on both edges working from the center outward on both sides until the top part of the seal is in the seal retainer.
6. Reinstall the right and left top corner push-in pin seal holders (Item #2).
7. Starting at the top edge of the windshield seal retainer, push the seal into place in the metal retainer. Do this on both sides.
8. Now lift up the bottom edge of the seal that extends beyond the metal retainer (Item #3), and apply adhesive to the windshield header. Push the seal into place. Reinstall the push-in pin seal holders (Item #1). Do this on both sides.
9. It is VERY IMPORTANT not to close doors or install top as yet. Allow about one hour for the sealer to cure before closing the doors or installing the roof panel or convertible top.
10. Before closing doors and installing top: Rub some dielectric silicone grease on a cloth and apply it to the new weather seal. This will prevent the seal from sticking to the door glass or roof panel or top; as well as, make a tighter seal against water intrusion. It will also prevent cracking of the seals in the future.
11. Install roof panel or convertible top and close both doors.
12. Reconnect the battery.
