A suspension limiting strap is usually required when your rear suspension is over extending causing your CV joints to bind and break. A limiting strap is also required on the front of a vehicle where suspension down travel is so great that your tie rods are hitting your frame. In either case, the whole purpose of these 18" Heavy Duty Suspension Limit Straps is to prevent damage to your shocks, axles, or tie rods.
It is normal for these straps to stretch, depending on the weight of the suspension being held up. Using an adjustable clevis when mounting your straps to your VW allow you the ability to tighten them back back up after stretching.
Suspension limit straps are measured from center of eye to center of eye.
