Every summer, we host VW Funfest, bringing together thousands of Air-Cooled VW enthusiasts for a weekend of car shows, seminars, live entertainment, and activities that celebrate the rich and vibrant history of VW.

Who We Are
For over 20 years, Mid America Motorworks has been your trusted source for Volkswagen parts and accessories. As a family-owned business, we offer over thousands of Volkswagen parts for classic models like the VW Beetle, VW Bus, Karmann Ghia, Type 3, and The Thing. We also provide lifestyle and apparel items for VW enthusiasts.
Our MY Garage Museum and Retail Store features a collection of automotive memorabilia, including classic and rare VW Beetles, offering an unforgettable experience for all ages. Visitors can shop for VW parts, accessories, and lifestyle merchandise
Visit us on US Route 45, just one mile from Exit 162 on I-57/70, three miles north of Effingham, Illinois.
Why We Started
In 1974, Mike Yager turned his passion for classic cars into a business by recognizing a need for quality Corvette products. He borrowed $500, sold patches and emblems at car shows, and quickly built a loyal following, leading him to found Mid America Enterprises. In 1998, the company expanded into the Volkswagen market by acquiring The Real Source, a supplier of VW parts and accessories.
We are located on US Route 45, approximately
three mile North of the City of Effingham, Illinois. If you are traveling on Interstate 57/70,
you can reach Mid America Motorworks by taking Exit 162 (Effingham-Sigel-Route 45
Exit) from Interstates 57 & 70.
From exit 162, regardless of your direction of travel,
once you exit the Interstate, turn right onto Route 45 North. Go 1.5 miles North
and you'll see us on the right side of the road!
