The older VW Ghia Convertible Tops are equipped with aluminum trim strips and are mounted by nails that are hammered into the wood bows. Removing the original trim without damaging it is almost impossible because the aluminum will bend so easily. Anytime you replace your convertible top we recommend getting new trim as it will enhance the looks of your new top. The new trim available today has a straight cut on the ends that can simply be filed down to make a nice beveled edge and then polished for a just out of the VW factory look. This item is 42" in length and is the one that goes directly above the rear window.
