This tool is the CORRECT way to remove the VW Beetle Type 1 oil pump without marring the sealing surface on the pump or case.
Basic directions for use: Remove pump cover and gears. Insert "T" end of the threaded component into the pump. Rotate the "T" end until it grabs the pump body. Position "U" brace against engine block. Slowly and carefully tighten the nut to extract the pump. Caution: The pump body can seize to the block and may damage the puller tool. The application of heat to the pump body and engine block may be necessary.
