These 1950-1979 Beetle Fender Well Nuts will allow you to properly install your fender. The fender mounting bolt passes through the fender and fender beading and threads into the fender well nut. This well nut must be welded to the body to ensure the fender is secure.
You will typically discover when removing a fender that one or two of these mounting nuts will twist out due to rust on the quarter panel. It is also very common for a bolt to twist off after turning a few times. Almost always when this happens, it is just easier and faster to replace the nut all together with one of these replacement nuts. As you begin twisting on your fender bolts, be careful and if possible use a good quality penetrating fluid several days in advance in order to help salvage the factory fender to body mounting nuts. Using penetrating fluid on the top side of the fender, between the fender beading and the body is also helpful to help loosen a rusty bolt.
