While it's the perfect coil to go with the PerTronix Ignition breakerless ignition, the 40,000 volt Flame-Thrower canister coil can benefit virtually an distributor type inductive system. Its higher voltage allows larger spark plug gaps for added power, smoother response and better fuel economy. These coils are internally resisted so installation and wiring is drastically simplified.
These oil filled coils offer greater heat control for street driven vehicles.

Tech Note: What is the difference between OIL filled and EPOXY filled ignition coils?
OIL filled ignition coils must be mounted upright. They allow greater heat control for street driven vehicles.
EPOXY filled ignition coils can be mounted in any direction, even upside down. They are recommended for off-road or high vibration situations.
