1967-1979-vw-starter-with-solenoid-12-volt
1967-1979 VW Starter with Solenoid - 12 Volt

Every great drive in your air-cooled VW starts with one quick job done right, and that job belongs to the starter. When you turn the key, the solenoid snaps the 9 tooth drive gear forward into the flywheel ring gear while the motor spins your engine over until it fires and takes it from there. After decades of heat cycles, oily grime, and thousands of starts, original units wear out. Worn brushes, sticky solenoids, and tired internals show up as slow cranking, random clicking, or the dreaded nothing at all, usually in a parking lot far from home. This brand new 12 volt starter puts that worry to bed. It’s a direct replacement for VW part number 311-911-023D, arrives with the solenoid already installed, and bolts right in on manual transaxles. With 0.7 kW of dependable cranking power and a clean factory style finish, it starts strong every time and looks right at home in your engine bay.

Fits 1967-1977 Standard Beetles

Fits 1971-1979 Super Beetles

Fits 1967-1974 Karmann Ghias

Fits 1973-1974 Things

Fits 1967-1973 Type 3s

Brand new 12 volt starter for air-cooled VWs with a manual transaxle

Direct replacement for VW part number 311-911-023D

Starter solenoid installed for easy bolt-in installation

0.7 kW output with 9 tooth drive gear for reliable cranking

Factory style looks and finish

Pilot bushing not included
